QUALIFICATIONS:            

• Massachusetts teacher certifiable in elementary education, grades K – 2
• Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Ability to work with a diverse population
• Knowledge of inclusive instruction and response to intervention helpful

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction
2. Establishes and (as necessary) adjusts instructional goals and objectives, to reflect district/school goals, curriculum policies, and the knowledge, skills, progress, and needs of one’s students.
3. Designs lessons that provide opportunities for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills.
4. Establishes and maintains standards for social and emotional learning consistent with CASEL standards.
5. Commits to on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy.
6. Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students
7. Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills.
8. Monitors and evaluates students’ progress in relation to learning goals.
9. Encourages, secures and maintains the involvement of families and other community members in support of instruction.
10. Effectively collaborates with department and grade level teachers.
11. Knowledgeable of equitable teaching and learning resources and practices.
12. Performs other duties as assisgned.

SALARY:   $50,954 to $97,434 in accordance with the teachers' contract
